Interstitial Lung Disease

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a group of approximately 200 rare diseases that result in inflammation or scarring in the lung. Accurate diagnosis is often challenging and treatment decisions are complex, with some emerging treatment options becoming available.

The ILD Clinic is run by two respirologists with extra training and special interest in the comprehensive care of patients with ILD. The physicians in the ILD clinic are involved in research that is aimed at improving the quality of life and outcomes of ILD patients, including clinical trials of potential therapies. A clinic manager provides additional ongoing care, including coordination of regular support group meetings for patients living with ILD and their families.
